Don't make more Waste with your WATER

Plastic water bottles are used everyday by millions of us. At a recent conference I attended, the guest speaker shared a story waste.jpgwith us that was overwhelming. For a three day large convention, the hosts at the convention offered each attendee a re-usable water bottle with the conference logo on it. Located throughout the conference were large bubble water dispensers to refill your bottles. At the end of the three day conference, the company estimated that they saved $25,000 in water bottles that they would have purchased for this particular conference and they donated that money to St. Jude’s Hospital.

What was more profound was a picture of all the water bottles that would have been used and the waste was astonishing. This is just one conference, in one city and we are a whole big world. I must say that most everyone here at the CVB uses refillable water bottles and that says a lot for our earth.

I have been trying to avoid buying bottled water and reading your entry really reinforced that decision!
